Osteopathic Continuous Certification

To meet the demands of credentialing requirements at the state level, the Osteopathic Education Community has worked diligently to create the Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC).

The American Osteopathic Board of Neurologists and Psychiatrists (AOBNP) oversees all OCC requirements.

Please refer to the AOBNP website for more information regarding OCC.

Continuing Medical Education

One of the responsibilities of the American College of Neuropsychiatrists/The American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists is coordinating Category 1A AOA Specialty Specific (neurology and psychiatry) continuing medical education.

Our scientific seminars and conventions are focused around three long-weekend events, which rotate throughout the country. Total credit offerings are usually between 20-28 1A AOA Specialty Credits per full meeting attendance.

The Committee on Education Evaluation (CEE) works closely with the Program Chair to insure that members have ample access to specialty CME to satisfy their requirements for AOBNP board certification in psychiatry or neurology. Credits are also available for members with CAQ requirements.

All CME credits are reported to the AOA. Individual CME cycle credits can be viewed after logging into the secure member site with the AOA.
